Community Drop-In: A Day of Crafts, Conversation, and Connection
Last Saturday, our community room buzzed with excitement as we hosted our bi-weekly Legacy Links drop-in event. There were no magicians, or special guest performances or anything really fancy. It was a regular afternoon of neighbors around the table for casual conversations, updates, and some colourful crafty activities that felt therapeutic. The table began to fill, and each face offered their own words and smile. There was a bread table available, and I actually delivered some loaves afterwards, and put a couple of loaves in the freezer. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, filled with laughter from all ages. It was nice, and I was pleased with my poster -even though I missed the birdhouses...i guess the early bird catches the worm, as supplies are sometimes limited. No complaints though, because there was a variety of other choices...not to mention lemon loaf...Mmmm. Next time I'll try to bring my grandchild.

Meaningful Conversations
Beyond the crafts, the real joy of this drop in is the conversations, shared knowledge and time spent connecting. The art of dialogue can sometimes be lacking or lost between generations, and this gathering definitely fills a gap.

Looking Forward
It wasn't my first and it will not be my last stop in to Legacy Links. This program nurtures creativity and social connection within our community, and allows us to strengthen our bonds and create memories through crafts and conversations.
